We (SR35 and I) just joined with the intention of exploring HPDE1 at Barber coming up at the end of the month. I still have to tech the car out. Which means that an approved tech provider has to authenticate that your ride is in good enough shape to track it.
Contacted SpeedSouth and got a quote on balancing the car if I go with coilovers. I stopped prior to purchasing due to the Performance Touring class modification point system. The base trim model of the SR Coupe is already one of the faster ones in the class. So, that means that it starts with a 14 point adjustment. This is the NASA way of keeping things relatively fair. With the tires and exhaust I am over 20 points which moves the car up a class.
I am thinking that I better learn what I am doing at this class before moving up another one with coilovers, intake, JWT cams, and ECU programming.
I wanted to mark this day with a post as a reminder that I have a ton of rules to read and specs to check between now and the end of the month (Barber’s Track day).
